Eighteen Eighty one

Edit: thanks to Reddit user garlic_lollipop who pointed out that the comic was missing the last panel! It's fixed now.

New Secret Knots comic: "1881".  If you know someone who you think would like it, you can easily share it with the button to post on Mastodon, Bsky, Facebook, etc. That's how people get here most of the time.

This comic was brought to you thanks to the support of kind Patreon subscribers, such as Phil Gooch.

I'd love to have a palindrome that made sense to add here in the text, but I think I've had enough of flipping things for a while; there will be a full dossier post about this comic, with extras and references, on Patreon soon, though.

Wait! Here's one: ailihphilia ;)

For those following on RSS feeds

Hi! Your feed notifications probably exploded recently with “new” posts. I’m trying the Patreon plugin to connect posts from there, and it imported basically everything. There are glitches here and there, such as free Patreon posts not showing images, so I’ll still be making some adjustments. Thanks for letting me know about it, and apologies for the annoyances.

I still think it’s a good idea to synchronize content from Patreon here, since Patreon email sometimes bounce; also, people who follow my comics from this website may not be aware of the content I post there, including free posts with progress of new stories. I hope that after a few tweaks, you’ll only be getting notifications of new posts.

Comic in progress: Abyssal

Second progress batch, including full recap of the comic from the beginning, since it’s taken a while.

I need to go back on some details for consistency, some background colors, etc. For this part I had to make a full mockup of the Crater VHS, more on that later.

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about interesting movies with bad rates, less formulaic stories, and the way non-tighly closed and imperfect things sometimes move the whole of a medium forward, into uncharted waters. It’s not exclusive to cinema, of course, but I thought it was more fun to use movies to tackle the theme. (That’s not the only thing that’s talked about in this comic, as we’ll see in the next part, but it’s what’s behind this part I’d say).

Halloween Movies Miscellanea

Here’s a mix of drawings made at different times, based on some of my favorite horror / mystery movies. I hope you have a nice Halloween!

1- The Bride of Frankenstein 2- The Exorcist III 3- Sketch of Vanessa Ives from Penny Dreadful 4- Picnic at Hanging Rock 5- Possession 6-The Lost Boys
