In this edition of the Secret Knots newsletter, we take a quick look at a new comic in progress, and also I ask you a little favor.

How to step out of the picture

I don’t have a clear deadline for this one, but I know it isn’t as long as some of the latest comics I’ve made. I’ve been forcing myself to return to a more compact format regarding the length of stories. Still, I didn’t manage to put this story into a frame of 12-16 panels, which is kind of an ideal to me, and apparently also the sweet spot of reading time in the case of my most shared comics. But it’s almost there, so I’ll probably get closer to that limit with the next one.

Help me get this comic nominated for an award

I'm campaigning to get my 2023 comic "The River" nominated for an award.
The Mike Wieringo Comic Book Industry Awards (Ringo Awards for short) are now accepting submissions, and they have an open nomination form. There are slots for nominees based on popular vote, so the more people submit this comic, the more chances it gets nominated. I'm aiming for the "Best Webcomic" category, but they have also a "Best Single Issue or Story" that may fit? So I sent my nomination in both of them.
This is the link with the nomination form https://ringoawards.com/
And this is the format I used, for both categories:
"The Secret Knots: The River" -

It’s not required to fill any other submission slot, although there are many fun categories if you read other comics or webtoons, such as favorite hero, or villain. The process is very simple, and it only requires an email confirmation.
Everyone can nominate, so if you decide to help me out with this, many thanks in advance!

This is all for this edition of the newsletter. I hope you have a great rest of the week, and I’ll see you soon with more stories and art.
