I love the parallel of feeding unwanted memories on paper to demons, who then are burnt and returned to the aether from whence they came, and removing unwanted memories from our external memories.
Our devices have become extensions of our minds. Our memories are now stored on our phones, replicated and multiple copies kept on hard drives around the world. And the ephemeral memory is now more permanent, ever returning.
