New Secret Knots comic, a non-canonical story branching from the classic Picture of Dorian Gray.
It's been a while! I hope you like it. Feel free to leave a comment or join the conversation on Patreon or Discord.
Oh, this is absolutely lovely, in typical Secret Knots fashion. A tiny sliver of a story, in a world that feels only a step away from our world, almost like something built from our unconscious. The fact that it’s transforming an existing work of literature helps that, I think – there’s a lot of threads to spin from small facets of narratives embedded in popular culture.
The idea of what exactly happens to the (otherwise narratively irrelevant) progenitor of a supernatural or mystical occurence is a fascinating one that I hadn’t quite seen before now.
Your adeptness at weaving different modes of colour is breathtaking as always, and I like the playful dip into typography.
Thank you very much. This story took a while to be done, and I went through different moods as the adventures of Basil passed through different periods as well. It’s very likely that the color choices reflect that, a bit of purposeful change in color according to the era, and some of my own disposition at the time. I left many things to be worked intuitively in late stages this time 🙂
Ooh I just finished your entire backlog and this might be my favorite! I was impressed by the consistently excellent quality and the uncanny, bittersweet tone your comics always deliver. Fifteen years of top-notch comics!

Thanks! I had planned to make more typographic play along the story, but it seemed to have more sense in the Victorian portion of it.
