Plans

I’ve got a question for The Secret Knots readers, a call for suggestions. Eventually I really would like to go to some comics or indie/alternative press/online comics event in North America probably, where most you are. It would be great to get to meet up with some of you and hang around in some comics convention. This would be probably at some point next year. There’s a lot of planning involved of course but I suppose a good starting point is asking WHERE. Do you recommend a specific Con?

Thanks.

Feedback and prints

There is a review of  The Secret Knots in Io9 (as some of you already know) that has brought many new readers and great feedback overall. It’s a very comprehensive point of entrance that links to different comics in the archives, so check it out. Thanks to the reviewer and Io9! Plus there’s plenty of interesting things to discover: following the ‘magical realism’ tag I met this excellent short story about a bottomless stair, for instance.

In other news, I’m opening the Store page with links to prints of some comics you can buy through Imagekind. For now there are a few that have been requested but I’ll be adding more later. Secret Knots desktop wallpapers are also in the Store. I look forward to hear from you if you buy prints, it’d be great if you could tell me if you are satisfied with them, thanks in advance! Right now they’re having a 22% off sale…

Brief note

Thanks for the feedback on the Valerie comic. It turned out to be stranger than I expected but I’m glad that some of you enjoyed it. I’m very enthusiastic about this next story I’m working on.

I opened a Formspring account, where you can go and ask me anything.

Almost there

The little subscription counter in the sidebar is about to hit 1.000, that’s 1K people who have added this feed to their browsers and feed readers at certain point. It’s a good number. Also, you are somewhat invisible to me in my stats counter so don’t forget, now and then, to leave a comment, visit the actual site, look at other comics in the links bar, say hi, raise a brow, wish me good luck.
I’m happy to share stories with you.

Sweet Heart

Wallpaper and Print

This new Secret Knots poster is available as desktop wallpaper and print.  I put all the desktop wallpapers in a single page called downloads where you can get them donating any amount. If you’d like this illustration on paper you can get it through Imagekind, where you can choose paper, size and framing if you want one. I must warn that the actual size of this file is around 11 x 17 inches / 27,9 x 43,2 cms. (tabloid) so I don’t recommend buying a print larger than that.
It is the first item I’m selling in The Secret Knots, so if you get one of these and are satisfied with it, please let me know (in comments or mail) so i can trust this printing service for further stuff.

Please tell me about your art.

I’ve been reading a comic I discovered because they put a link to The Secret Knots. It’s called Dreamlife and it looks really great, you should read it from the beginning. Which led me to ask you, casual or loyal readers, do you have a comic, fiction, art, crafts, etc  project you would like to share in the comments of this post? I’d love to know what you do. Probably others too!

I other news: The band Piano magic put a link in their myspace to the comic I made with their song. Because they liked it. How cool is that?

EDIT: This post is still active, people have been leaving great links in the comments, so keep it coming!
I want to add, in case you don’t know, that I’ve got some illustrations over at my livejournal.

Current status

Hey, thanks for reading and following The Secret Knots, and welcome to all of you who came through Stumble Upon. Some of you may be wondering when there’s going to be a new comic here, so here’s the thing: lately, The Secret Knots has fallen into a mixture of involuntary hiatus and very voluntary vacations, but this is going to end soon. The involuntary hiatus part has a lot to do with the loss of my computer screen in circumstances of the earthquake that happened some weeks ago here in Chile. But new stories are coming soon, so I want to ask you for a little more patience while I work things out. If you feel like giving a helping hand with this, you can donate any amount of money using the paypal button I’ve put here at the sidebar, and download a Secret Knots wallpaper for your desktop. I’m very grateful for the support I’ve already received and also for the comments and messages from people who are still discovering this comic. I’ll be notifying about updates through the usual means: rss feed, twitter and livejournal.

Bonus news: this is me answering the questionnaire devised by Paul Grimsley for his site In To Views.
