Patreon Portraits – October ’20

Hello. Traditionally I make special portraits for subscribers to this Patreon in October, spooky thematic drawings for you to use as seasonal icons for your online persona, or simply to try a fun mask on the privacy of a well hidden file, along with your deepest secrets. This year is no exception and as usual, it’s open to all Patreon tiers.

I’m going with a reprise of a fun theme: Gothic Portraits, such as the crazy eyed, malign looking relative, maybe still alive somehow, that we see in a range of stories, from old classic movies to scooby doo episodes. These are some samples from a previous time:

You can submit again if you were in the past round, no worries. Maybe this year your portrait will seem to follow our eyes across the room with renewed cosmic -or mundane- horror, yeah.

Feel free to start sending your reference photo to gemeloperverso@gmail.com with the subject GOTHIC PORTRAIT to be part of this reward.

Customizations

This time, customization options for 10$ tier subscribers may include a different era, such a the previous roaring 20’s fashion (very suited to Lovecraftian horror), wuthering heights-esque dramatic costume and candelabra, medieval madness from a cursed heirloom, or an added wicked companion, human or animal. You can edit your pledge to get one of these or other customizations for this reward only, if you like.

As a small bonus to this message, this is an old comic I’ve been reposting, because it is something short and sweet, and I still like it. I hope you are all well, hugs! and many thanks.

J.

A discreet reminder of the power source of these stories

patreon secret knots My patrons allow me to keep making comics for free on the internet. It works like this: they subscribe to one of the $1/3/10 monthly tiers (or cycle between them to get specific rewards) and I share with them details of my process, the world building behind every story, and I regularly make thematic portraits for them (And there’s a fun online gathering coming in January) If this sounds like something you’d like to be part of in 2020, follow me on http://www.patreon.com/santapau If this is not for you, there’s another great thing you can do to power up Secret Knots, and that’s telling someone else about it. Tweet, post on Facebook, or share in a DM the Boarding School story, if you think that’d be their thing. Or that weird one, about a psychedelic interpretation of a poster, if they’are so inclined.  Or the one one about werewolves, which LOTS of people love, probably because they’re werewolves. People trust people, not algorithms. (Trust me). And, above all, thanks for being here. Thanks for having me in your RSS reader, or checking out the site from time to time. I’d tell you something about the end of the year/decade, but I still have one more tale to tell this month. See you soon. Juan
