Eighteen Eighty one

Edit: thanks to Reddit user garlic_lollipop who pointed out that the comic was missing the last panel! It's fixed now.

New Secret Knots comic: "1881".  If you know someone who you think would like it, you can easily share it with the button to post on Mastodon, Bsky, Facebook, etc. That's how people get here most of the time.

This comic was brought to you thanks to the support of kind Patreon subscribers, such as Phil Gooch.

I'd love to have a palindrome that made sense to add here in the text, but I think I've had enough of flipping things for a while; there will be a full dossier post about this comic, with extras and references, on Patreon soon, though.

Wait! Here's one: ailihphilia ;)

New comic: In the House of You

Comic finished! (Link to full comic below)

The new comic, which retained the working title “In the house of you”, is in full on the website, on the following link. (I didn’t want to clutter your email with this extra long strip of images):

What’s next? During the next week, I’ll be sharing a special dossier post with references and extras from this comic. (A paid tiers exclusive Patreon post). Many thanks, once again, for the feedback during the making of this longer than usual tale, and for your kind support, which makes these stories possible. I hope you like it!

Comic progress – In the house of you – 04

Eve’s health deteriorates, as Samuel ponders about his friend’s whereabouts.

***

Things I need to be consistent with, in a revision:

– The table, the window panels, also there was a rug down there before.

-Samuel’s glasses. Optic glasses are things you’d think would be easier to draw. Other deceitfully tricky things? Water glasses, bottles. Hats!

I enjoyed drawing the random faces in this part: the moving guy, the reading fellow, the doctor.

Comic progress – In the house of you – 03

Back to comic updates, after some busy days with end-of-year related tasks.

In Spanish, blackbird is “Mirlo”. (At least in Chile). In the original script, which this time I wrote in Spanish, the part where Samuel says it’s simple to draw them because you don’t use a lot of color comes off a little different with a non-descriptive, unique name like Mirlo. (“Right, they’re black”). I think those lines still serve the purpose, but in a slightly different way. It may go through some revision, in the end.

In the next installment, we’ll find out what’s behind this house move, and how it’ll affect poor Samuel Fludd.

Fairy Creatures out in the wild, 01-12

The last pending Fairy creatures are out there in secret woods, including one in a new environment: a bog, and a custom character: a vulpine faun.

Next update will be about comic progress, but for now, I’ll also take this chance to give Earthquake Critic tier supporters($10) a reminder of the drawing they can ask once a month; a quick portrait or a rendition of a favorite character could make for a lovely surprise gift for someone, perhaps. All drawings are delivered by mail in an easily printable letter size PDF file. (Please note that drawings will actually be around half-letter in size, but they are laid out this way for printing convenience)

If you are in the Earthquake Critic tier (or edit your pledge in order to get this reward), address drawing petitions to juan@thesecretknots.com. I’ll aim to have them all done by December 20, if you get in touch before Dec. 8.

Thanks!
