 It’s time for a new October of thematic portraits, and now it’s the turn of Mad Scientists, as voted in the poll.

For those new to this Patreon reward, you can check out in this collection portraits of previous calls. 

The reward will be available to patrons from tier $3+, and those in the Earthquake Critic ($10+) get to ask for special customizations. As usual, feel free to edit your pledge for a month in order to get special perks.

Variants:

This time, the options will not be based on the clothing (which will probably be loosely inspired by the classic Victor Frankenstein look), but on the arrangements of objects around the character so you can choose your own flavor of forbidden science:

• Alchemist (Jar with homunculi, concoctions, organs in stasis)

• Reanimator (Impractical Electric equipment, limbs, brains in jars)

• Mad Botanist (Sentient carnivore plant, hypno-pollen producing flowers)

• Pulp Inventor (Ray guns and desintegrators, atomic robotic devices)

• Gene Engineer (Microscopes and samples, forbidden hybrid species in development)

Feel free to let me know if you’d want gendered features for a particular character, or to disregard that aspect entirely.

Customization:

These are available to Earthquake Critic Patreon tier (10+):

• A different type of (mad) scientist. Let me know if you have something specific in mind, or if you’d like to mix themes.

• Additional person, depicted as head in a jar with exposed brain, or head connected to weird electronic devices.

• A specific outfit, tools, or activity.

Once again, the time for the most insane portrait marathon is coming!

Every year, around October, I make Halloween-themed portraits for subscribers, and this time I want to pitch this game early, in order to deliver the portraits gradually and in time. Also, I’m sending out this public post first, to let everyone know in case you might be interested in jumping in.

The post with the poll, and the reward itself will be available to tiers 3+; on tier10+ you will get special customizations of the chosen theme. As usual, feel free to edit your pledge in order to participate or get special choices.

This year, the options will be…

Vampires: Witnesses of the passing of decades, battling the ennui of immortality with petty games of blood and drama. From time to time, you leave your seclusion to play the part of the eccentric guest in the most exclusive gatherings, even though you don’t drink… wine.

Mad Scientists: Stricken by twisted enlightenment and the will to defy the laws of nature, misunderstood by fellow scientists and a world that doesn’t recognize your genius. But soon they will see! They will all see!

Zombies: You survived the apocalypse for weeks, but all it took was one bite. Now, the infection has brought you back to life, to bang with rotting limbs on the doors of your former friends’ shelter, as a terrifying reminder of who you once were.
