This is funny… because two nights ago, I woke to find two ghosts-of-a-nightmare peeking into my bedroom from the adjacent living room door. I was terrified, but since then, they’ve been on my mind, and I’ve been hoping to see them return, so that this time, maybe I won’t be too afraid to talk to them.
Your tales are always glimpses of different worlds, worlds far more beautiful than this one.
But this one…the artwork…the way the figures are half-seen…it matches the story perfectly, as if the two are inseparable, made for each other and each other only.
Thanks for sharing your imagination with us. We sure need it π
Very beautiful. I’ve been thinking a lot about ghosts lately. They’re everywhere, and while I wish sometimes they’d just go away, they are nothing to be scared of. I’m glad she recognizes that and shares her understanding.
You have such a rare and precious skill for putting into words and images those realities of life that are seldom consciously acknowledged. I can actually relate to quite a few of these…
@Fawndolyn: It is pretty fascinating to learn for the first time that there is a whole other world out there, but from my own experience, most of the visible/tangible creatures that pay spontaneous visits to humans are even more unpleasant up close. I originally referred to them as “demons” out of cultural habit, but eventually settled on “the little bastards”.
‘Previous anon’: thanks, I haven’t played UA specifically but I know more or less what’s it about and I’ve always thought it looks very cool. (I’m more of a WoD player myself)
Juan,
May you be inspired soon to write a new installment…
maybe you will tantalize the long-term readers with the ghost of a comic past
then transport us to a new Vision
Adam Black
Ps: ‘Something IS coming ‘
is always a good theme…
especially to those who wake
while lesser minds sleep;
hear the whisper in the Dark…
That IT IS
This is so beautiful and touching. I’m weepy…but in a good way. Do you sell prints of your work? I would love to have this on a wall where I saw it every day.
Thanks for all your comments, they’re encouraging. I’m really glad you like this particular story. I’ve got my own ghosts too, from the time I wrote it, a very different time from now.
Yey! a neeeeew one! and I like it
Once again you do terrific work. You’re like Ray Bradbury in webcomic form.

As usual, pretty powerful, moving and beautiful stuff. It’s good to live in a world where The Secrets Knots exists :). Keep up the good work!
<3<3<3
This story was fascinating. Lovely style as always too!
the ghost of the unused fictional character really struck a cord with me…
This is my favourite so far. I’m in love.
Seems like some new techniques on this page. I found the final frame in particular to be quite stunning.
@Sandy: Yes, I wanted to try something different and this story called for a darker and warmer approach in the art.
creepy! I like it.
Simply truly most awesome! Very much like the dark, but comforting theme.
I didn’t know there were so many kinds…
Really beautiful. Even a bit like Gaiman’s Sandman all happening on one page…
Whoa, this one gave me the shivers. I’m detecting a slightly altered art style here, and I’m loving it.
Definitely one of my favourite tsk-stories so far.
Love the style! <3
This is one of my favorite webcomics. Keep up the fantastic work.
Wow…

Moving. Very.
I loved it. It’s my favorite so far! And it made me a commenter rather than a lurker! <3

Ghosts have feelings too, loved it π
Wow! I found this via a recommendation on The Beat and I’m very glad — this is absolutely gorgeous! Congratulations!
Beautiful.

I love this story, I wait for the next

This left me speechless =)
Super! I love it. π
Somewhat reminds me of a cross between A Softer World and Unknown Armies
And I mean that in a good way.

Never knew there were that many ghosts.

I want this as a print so bad. Something about it just makes me want to put it on a wall to read everyday when I’m on my way out the door.
Ghosts of your webcomic readers…?
Don’t stop, make more, we’re still here.
Patiently waiting for a print of this.
You posted this within a month of a very good friend passing. It helped a lot. Thanks

That print will be available very soon.
Wow… as I browse through the archives, I try to read only one a day, to make the experience last longer. This one is gorgeous.
I don’t EVER comment on things, but this was beautiful. Thank you. π
It’s simply amazing what you’re able to capture in words and visuals. I enjoy these immensely.
I still dont get the last scene
